Introduction
As an intern at Hero, you will have a lot of freedom to discover your talents and make an immediate impact. We can make good use of your fresh perspective, and we are happy to help you further develop yourself in a commercial environment. During this internship, you will combine market research with working within the team, so that you not only create a plan but also learn how to bring it to life in practice.
You will join the Emerging Channel team within Sales: a dynamic team that identifies opportunities and develops new channels. Think of places where consumers are “on the go” and where we want to bring healthier choices closer with our snacks, entirely in line with our mission.
Assignment Description
During this internship, you will investigate how Hero can enter a new market with its snacks, for example family entertainment. You will map out where the opportunities lie, what the customer needs are, and how we can approach this smartly from a commercial perspective.
In addition, you actively collaborate with the Emerging Channel team and provide support where necessary. This way, you truly learn “on the job” and become part of a professional sales organization.
This is what you will be doing, among other things:
Research (main assignment):
• Analyze the market and target group (type of locations, visitor flows, need for (healthier) snacks)
• Identify and segment potential customers/chains (priority list)
• Map out competition and supply (what is currently available, at what price, which deal structures?)
• Develop a proposal for a go-to-market approach: proposition, assortment, price indication, distribution/logistics, on-site activations
• Translate conclusions into a concrete action plan
Internship (team support):
• Assist in preparing for client meetings (materials, pitch, data)
• Support in setting up pilots/introductions (e.g. sampling, POS, appointments)
• Contribute ideas regarding commercial opportunities in other “new channels”
• Ad hoc support for the team on ongoing projects
Your profile
Are you studying Commercial Economics, (International) Business, Small Business & Retail Management, Sales & Account Management or something similar? Great! In addition, you recognize yourself in the following:
• You are curious and enjoy exploring new markets
• You can work independently and maintain an overview (organizing and realizing)
• You have strong communication skills and dare to make contact with external parties
• You are hands-on, proactive, and result-oriented (you see opportunities and seize them)
